Class of 2010
LCC Adult Program Overview
The LCC Adult Program brings together a mix of existing and emerging leaders with diverse backgrounds and experiences and from all five (5) school districts in the county. These individuals have demonstrated the talent and desire to serve their communities. Through active participation in a succession of program days, participants become more aware of the dynamics of the social and economic changes of today and the potential impact on our communities. Once a month, September through June, participants attend day-long sessions on specific topics: the history of Centre County, government, education, health and human services, environment, economic development and the arts. Face-to-face discussions with present community leaders and experts from countywide organizations and institutions forms the backbone of the sessions, and helps class members develop an in-depth understanding of the complexities of community issues. Participants are provided opportunities to enhance their problem solving and communication skills throughout the program. Through this process, valuable knowledge and broader perspectives on a host of issues is gained

The LCC experience has an immediate, positive effect on the participants, their organizations, and the community. Each person is better informed and more skilled in active community leadership. The real value of the program is evidenced as graduates become leaders in positions of responsibility in Centre County.

Leadership Centre County was founded to help develop this most precious resource and to recognize the valuable contribution of great leadership in the past, present, and future.
