Donna Holmes

Donna Holmes, a graduate from the 2005 Class, is now on the Board and Treasurer for Leadership Centre County. In addition to that, she also works as a Vice President and Commercial Lender for Northwest Bank.

What is your exact job title and description?

I am a Vice President and Commercial Lender for Northwest Bank.

Do you have any side hustles?

In addition to my job at Northwest Bank, I am a Board member and Treasurer of Leadership Centre County, a Board member and Treasurer of Housing Transitions, a member of the Finance Committee of the Downtown State College Improvement District, and a volunteer on the funds distribution committee for the Centre County United Way.

What is your favorite part about being on the Board?

The Board is made up of many community leaders who are passionate about the mission of LCC.  Our Board meetings are robust and educational with many ideas being shared as well as best practices to learn from.  We all strive to make LCC even better than it is today. Individually, we also typically share a little about ourselves to get to know each other better.

How did you learn about LEADERSHIP?

I heard about LCC when the original class was forming.  I knew some individuals that were part of that class.

How would you describe your experience going through the program?

I thought, since living in State College and Centre County since 1981, I had a pretty good understanding of the area.  When I went through LCC, it gave me a different perspective. The program days showed me places I never would have been able to see and gave me history and knowledge of programs and places that I barely knew about. It also exposed me to many people outside of my normal course of day to day activities.

What advice would you give to someone unsure of participating in the LEADERSHIP program?

If you are interested in meeting new people from outside your circle of friends, this is the place.  The people you will meet will remain your friends because of the experiences you have. It is also a great way to learn about Centre County, even if you’ve lived here for a long time.

What do you do in your free time?

I like to spend time with my husband and family, go on vacations, especially to sunny areas with beaches, run, play golf, sew and watch and attend sporting events.
